#Tron (#TRX) Pledges 1 Million USD on ‘Dr Doom’ And #Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin Debate
Tron (TRX) has earmarked 1 Million USD on a proposed debate between ‘Dr Doom’ economist Nouriel Roubini and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, after journalist Laura Shin proposed a debate between the two on her podcast to determine if cryptocurrency is really worth the hype.
Few days back, Roubini, a professor at the New York University’s Stern School of Business made testimonies at a hearing organised US Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Community Affairs on “Exploring the Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Ecosystem”.
At the hearing, Roubini said at the hearing that cryptocurrency is the mother of all scams and (now busted) bubbles, adding that blockchain is the most over-hyped technology ever.
After criticizing cryptocurrency, Roubini himself was vilified for his summations, however, he agreed to engage Vitalik in a debate to reinvent his claim and make it clear that cryptocurrency really is a scam. Speaking on the development Tron’s Justin Sun said the cryptocurrency platform is ready to sponsor the debate and give 1 million USD to the winner. He added that the result be decided votes from the public.
