‘Bitcoin whales’ Control Third Of Market With $37.5bn Holdings

Approximately 1,600 investors known as “bitcoin whales” hold around $37.5bn of the cryptocurrency, or close to 1/3 of the available total. According to data from Chainalysis, a blockchain research company, there were some 1,600 bitcoin “wallets” containing at least 1,000 bitcoin each. Bitcoin (BTC) is up 0.25% over the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $7,643.97 on Coinbase.
